About the Show

If you live in or have ever visited Saranac Lake, you know that it is a decidedly different place where there is always something to talk about. Located in the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York, Saranac Lake is a beautiful mountain town with a rich history, interesting people, and beautiful setting. The Saranac Lake Effect Show is all about this amazing place and its people.

Real. We cut through the noise and doublespeak.

Local. If it's not about Saranac Lake, we don't talk about it.

Talk. It's a podcast, so there is talking.

Originally from Peru, NY, Jeremy moved to Saranac Lake with his family in 2007 to become the Village's Community Development Director. He currently serves as CEO of the Franklin County Economic Development Corporation. He lives on French Hill in the Village of Saranac Lake with his wife Jenni and children, Alex, Amelia and Isaac.

Co-Host Justin Garwood

Justin’s family on both sides can be traced back to the founding of Saranac Lake. Born and raised here, Justin graduated from SLHS in 2000 and spent most of the years between then and 2020 in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Vermont. In May of 2020 he and his wife Ashley moved back to SL, bought a house in the village, and have set out to raise their four children: Ava, Hayes, Isla, and Willa. Justin is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Vermont.
